The challenge
When something goes wrong — a flood, an illness, an elderly neighbour cut off — people who could help are often just around the corner, but there is no simple, trustworthy way to connect them. Any open request board also attracts jokes and abuse that drown out real needs.
What we built
We designed a mobile app, meant to plug into a Polish government application, where citizens post help requests and nearby volunteers get push notifications. Every request is checked by an AI model for jokes, inappropriate content or profanity before it is published, and gets a short title and a severity score so the most urgent needs surface first. Volunteers see requests on a map and build a history of the help they have given.
