Lingrrotly

Most language learning apps are designed around engagement loops: streaks to protect, lives to lose, dopamine-driven rewards that keep users opening the app without necessarily making them better at the language. We wanted to build something different — an app that treats language learning as a skill to build rather than a game to win. The core challenge was designing a learning system grounded in real-language frequency data, where every exercise earns its place because it reflects vocabulary and grammar that actually show up in conversation, and where progress tracking is honest enough to tell users exactly where they stand, skill by skill and word by word.

We built Lingrrotly as a single app for both iOS and Android, combining several complementary ways to practise Spanish: verb conjugation drills with in-context grammar lessons, vocabulary flashcards with image support, and crossword puzzles. Every exercise feeds into the same mastery model, so progress made in one format is reflected everywhere else. Learners can follow a guided path through structured content or zero in on the specific skill they want to work on. A built-in analytics section shows how mastery evolves over time, giving users something concrete to come back to.
