2nd place at HackYeah 2026: emergency alerts that work when the network doesn't
In 24 hours at HackYeah 2026 we built SafeMesh — a HarmonyOS app that relays verified emergency alerts phone to phone — and took 2nd place in Huawei's challenge.
HackYeah is one of the biggest hackathons in Europe, and this year we came back from TAURON Arena Kraków with a podium: 2nd place in the Huawei challenge.
The problem we picked
When a crisis hits, the mobile network is often the first thing to go down — and that’s exactly when people need trustworthy information the most. Forwarded warnings are easy to alter or fake, and a false alert can do as much harm as no alert at all.
What we built in 24 hours
SafeMesh is a native HarmonyOS app that passes emergency alerts from phone to phone, with no mobile network required. Every device verifies the issuer’s signature before it shows or forwards an alert, so forged or modified warnings are rejected on the spot. The app also includes an offline map of protective points, works in Polish and English and supports large text and screen readers.

Why it matters for our clients
A hackathon compresses a whole product cycle into a single day: understanding the problem, cutting scope to what matters and shipping something that actually works — on a platform most teams had never touched before. It’s the same way we approach every client project, just with less sleep.
